2. Domestic mutual funds invest Rs 4,002 crore in the anchor quota of the LIC IPO

Domestic mutual funds invested for 71.12 % of the total anchor quota of the initial public offering (IPO) of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). The total amount invested by the mutual fund is Rs 4002.27 crore. SBI Mutual Fund invested Rs 1006.89 crore and became the largest investor in the anchor portion of the LIC, IPO. LIC mobilized an aggregate of Rs 5627 crore from anchor investors on 1st day of IPO.

According to data, four equity plans of SBI MF invested the amount, with SBI Equity Hybrid Fund alone putting in Rs 518.99 crore. Also, seven schemes of ICIC Prudential Mutual Fund invested Rs 725 crore in the IPO of LIC.

HDFC Mutual Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Axis Mutual Fund, Kotak MF, L&T MF and Nippon India MF, among others, also invested in the anchor portion.
