Dr. Vinod Nair: An ENT Surgeon with a unique style

Dr. Vinod is an exceedingly cautious ENT surgeon. Many ENT issues, he believes, can be conservatively controlled or prevented with the proper intervention at the right time. Of course, there are disorders in the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) area that can only be treated surgically, but their number is decreasing every day thanks to modern medical efforts.

He believes in taking the patient’s history and the disease/unease to the extent that he is satisfied, and he wants his patients to be patient with him and make previous appointments for consultations as much as possible.

His clinical investigation policy would be to undertake investigations as and when they are needed, rather than on the first appointment because he believes that many ENT issues require a planned approach to the investigations. More investigations may be required during treatment in difficult/uncommon clinical circumstances.

He encourages his patients and their immediate family members to express any concerns they may have about therapy or investigations. He will only suggest an inquiry, procedure, or treatment if he believes it will help the patient.

If a patient requests a second opinion, he encourages it and makes all medical records available for that purpose. He may, however, be unwilling to reconsider his clinical conclusion unless he is completely convinced. His patients will have complete flexibility to pursue their goals, and he will be only too delighted to speak with their new doctor about the care they have had thus far. He may also request that the patient get a second opinion from a physician of his choosing.

He maintains complete, open, and two-way communication with his patients while also insisting on mutual respect in the professional relationship.
