An Indian educational technology startup that has made deep strides in smaller Indian cities and towns with its low-cost tuition offerings is the latest to join the South Asian nation’s fast-growing unicorn club.
Edtech startup PhysicsWallah has raised $100 million through a Series A funding round from investors like WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures. The company made this announcement in a statement on Tuesday, June 7th.
According to the statement, the value of PhysicsWallah after this transaction will be $ 1.1 billion. The funds will be used to expand the business and open more learning centers, as well as to present more offers.
PhysicsWallah also plans to launch educational content in various Indian languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil as part of its growth plans.
