GoM suggests no change in GST rate on online gaming, sticks

The GoM on Tuesday concluded a meeting on online gaming, horse racing, and casino that did not suggest any change in the proposed GST rate of 28%, ET Now reported citing sources.

However, the group of ministers will meet once more before submitting the final report to the GST Council.

A final report on the issue is likely to be released on August 10, 2022.

The 47th meeting of the GST Council, chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, last month decided to set up the VM to address various concerns raised by the states regarding the establishment of GSTAT.

“In its 47th meeting held on June 28-29 in Chandigarh, the GST Council discussed the changes required in the provisions relating to the GST Appellate Tribunal in the GST Acts to bring it in line with the judgments of the courts in relation to various aspects relating to the tribunals. ” Is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Finance.
