Bajaj Auto Ltd reported a 20% slip in total sales to 3,10,774 units in April. The company had sold 3,88,016 units in April 2021, said Bajaj Auto. The total domestic sales in April 2020 were 1,02,177 units, whereas the sales in April 2021 were 1,34,471 units. The sale was down 24%, he added.
The company faces the same scenario with exports. The exports decreased by 18% in the last month. The last month’s export was 2,08,597 units down from 2,53,545 units in April 2021. Domestic two-wheeler sales were 93,233 units, compared to 1,26,570 units in the same month last year, a 26% decrease, said the company.
The company’s two-wheeler exports were also down 15% at 1,88,478 units in April 2021, compared to 2,21,603 units in April 2021. On the other hand commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market rose by 13% to 8,944 units in the same month last year, according to Bajaj Auto. But exports of commercial vehicles decreased by 37%, the company added.
