“Securing areas sensitive to landslides”

iIoTs , a group incubated by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi’s technology incubator Catalyst, is at the forefront of developing a patented low-cost system for sensing and warning against landslide disasters and environmental pollution. At an early stage, iIoTs holds the distinction of deploying a record number of landslide monitoring and warning systems at 15-different landslide locations in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.

The system has already saved lives and infrastructure in the current monsoon season at the famous Kotropi landslide, where the system sounded an alarm just before a flash flood.

iIoTs, a group seeded by Catalyst, the technology incubator at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, is working on a patented low-cost device for sensing and warning against landslide disasters. iIoTs has the distinction of having deployed a record number of landslide monitoring and warning systems at ten different landslide locations in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district at an early stage.

During the current monsoon season, the system has already saved lives and infrastructure at the renowned Kotropi landslide, when the system sounded an alarm immediately before a flash flood. Minutes before the accident, police heard the signal and came to a halt on the highway.

Landslide Monitoring System (LMS)

A one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art, low-cost landslide monitoring and warning system that may be put in mountainous locations prone to landslides. This low-cost device is used for remote IoT-based monitoring of weather factors, soil movements, and soil characteristics in landslide-prone locations. The technology detects considerable soil movement and issues traffic warnings via traffic signals at the landslide site, as well as SMS alerts to those living nearby.

The system also includes a weather station that can send out weather-related notifications to various stakeholders when the probability of rain is greater than 80% and the amount of rain is greater than 3 mm in the next two hours for deployed and surrounding sites.

Automatic Weather Station

Temperature, humidity, light intensity, barometric pressure, rainfall intensity, wind direction, and other meteorological factors can all be monitored with this system.

The system also includes a weather station that can send out weather-related advisories to different stakeholders when the probability of rain is greater than 80% and the amount of rain is greater than 3 mm in the next two hours for deployed and surrounding locations.

Air Quality Monitoring, Prediction, And Warning System

A one-of-a-kind, low-cost, state-of-the-art air-quality monitoring, prediction, and warning system that may be put in remote locations. This Internet of Things-based monitoring system can track seven pollutants: PM 1.0, PM 2.5, PM 10, CO, SO2, NO2, and Ozone, as well as five weather variables: temperature, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, wind speed, and wind direction.

When certain thresholds are exceeded, the system can send SMS notifications to users who have subscribed. The system includes a cutting-edge prediction module that employs an ensemble of deep learning models to forecast future pollution concentrations.

Army Canteen Scheduler App (ACSA)

Army Canteen Scheduler App (ACSA) is a web application developed by iIoTs for army canteens that can help maintain social distance standards during the current Covid-19 outbreak. This software allows you to plan your booze and grocery purchases ahead of time before going to the canteen.

ACSA may assist canteens in better anticipating customer demand and assisting clients in booking a time slot prior to visiting the canteen. Multiple liquor and grocery counters, as well as user-defined consumption restrictions and operational periods, are all supported by ACSA in canteens. The ACSA also allows the canteen management to change numerous configurations such as counter number, maximum number of persons in a slot, full-day or half-day closure, and closure on other days. ACSA allows customers to book booze and/or groceries, and when they do, they are given a time slot.

Automatic Thermal Screening System (ATSS) – COVID 19

COVID-19 diseases are spreading rapidly, and no vaccine is yet to be cure to these diseases. In the present time, people are going to market, shopping malls, offices, and traveling on the buses, increasing the coronavirus’s spreadability. The strange thing about this disease that the asymptomatic COVID-19 patient himself does not know that he is a potential carrier for coronavirus. Suppose we could detect the symptoms of the COVID-19.

In that case, we can prevent the COVID-19 patient from mixing up with the other people. The person’s body temperature is a primary symptom of COVID-19 diseases. So, we developed a device that can detect a person’s body temperature from a distance. Whenever the person stands in front of the system (i.e., in a range between 10-15cm), the blue light is turned on immediately, and the system starts taking a temperature reading. If the person’s temperature is above 100 Fahrenheit, the system turns on the red led and sounded an alarm. As a result, the person can be prohibited in the office or bus.
