Kama Ayurveda was launched in 2002 with a range of nine Ayurvedic treatments, developed in partnership with 75-year-old Arya Vaidya Pharmacy in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. These remedies have been developed to help treat existing skin and hair concerns, and prevent future ones – effective, authentic, time-tested, and balanced. They wanted to share this wealth of knowledge with the rest of the world, that’s why the co-founders reach out to South India, the land of authentic Ayurvedic wellness solutions. Their devotion to helping revive the 5,000-year-old medical science of Ayurveda began with sourcing botanicals and natural ingredients sustainably and authentically. The forest communities, small-scale farmers, and artisans with whom we work are in sync with their environment. They support sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives, promoting and spreading the messages of recycling and responsible consumption.

They have incorporated waste management solutions, rainwater harvesting, and catalytic power through solar panels. The factory has become a permanent living and production place for the people who work there – kind to the planet and people. Even their product packaging is now made from recycled plastics, making it post-consumer resin (PCR) packaging – minimizing the impact on landfills. Their goal is to go above and beyond to make every aspect of Kama Ayurveda sustainable and environmentally conscious.

They are against animal testing and animal cruelty and have received PETA certification as recognition for this. No pretreatment, no contaminants, and no dilution.

Kama Ayurveda uses authentic, complex balanced Ayurvedic formulations without harmful chemicals like Sulphates, Parabens, Artificial Fragrances, GMOs, Petrochemicals/ Mineral Oils, etc. their products are clean, ensuring that they are kinder to your skin than products with harmful ingredients. Every year Kama Ayurveda partners with Prabhat to promote a skin-safe Holi (Indian festival of colors) by supporting their Avakayam (Sanskrit for collecting flowers) program. This program produces 100% natural, chemical-free dyes by recycling unused and discarded temple flowers. The flowers are collected by persons with disabilities and processed and packed by hand. It reflects all 3 aspects of the work’s goal – the colors are kind to the skin and 100% natural, the initiative is kind to the planet through the recycling and reuse of flowers, and the Hum Prabhat initiative in a different way Support – Capable people.
