Most popular Indian food in the world

India is known for its diversity that varies with every religion, state, community, and culture. India is full of uncountable dishes. These dishes are made by use of spices, grains, fruits, and vegetables that are all grown in the country. Here everyone comes from different cultural background, that’s the reason that food culture of the country has been influenced by all of them. Indian cuisine offers an extraordinary experience with a rich and variety of flavors with healthy food.

  1. Chole Bhature : One of the most popular Punjabi dishes liked almost all over the world, and it’s also known as Chana bhatura. I can tell it for sure not only Punjabi, everyone loves and enjoy chole bhature because it’s full of flavor and so filling. You can enjoy it anytime because this is not something you can only eat-in breakfast. It can be your snack, dinner, lunch. The capital of India Delhi is famous for chole bhature.
  2. Sambar: Popular south-Indian food made of pigeon pea, tamarind broth, and vegetables. It’s a lentil-based vegetable stew. Sambar can be served along with dosa, idli, or rice. It’s healthy food so that’s the reason everyone enjoys even the diabetic patient.
  3. Vada pav: Itis a vegetarian fast food dish native to the state of Maharashtra. The dish is made of a deep-fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun [pav] sliced almost in half through the middle. It is served with one or more chutney and green chili pepper. The most famous chutney is the spicy garlic chutney of vada pav. It is best enjoyed during the monsoon in India.
  4. Rasgulla : Rasgulla has different name like Rosogolla, rasgola, or rosogola. Rasgulla originated in West Bengal. It is made from ball-shaped dumplings of Indian cottage cheese and semolina dough, cooked in light sugar syrup made of sugar. This is done until the syrup penetrates the dumplings. It’s a very popular and delicious dessert that everyone loves and enjoys it. Most people enjoy rasgulla with curd as well.
  5. Tunde ke kabab : The most popular dish in Lucknow, also known as Buffalo meat galouti kebab. This dish is made out of minced meat which is popular in Lucknow, India. At the end of the 17th century, Haji Murat Ali started a shop to sell Tunde kababs. About 160 spices and dressings were used to prepare this kabab. And this recipe is a family secret and is passed on to the next generations. Till today people visit Lucknow to try this kabab.
  6. Biriyani : Most famous and loved dish in Indian cuisines that are served in all parts of the world. In India, it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t like or enjoy biriyani. You can also say that it’s a universal dish in India. Biryani is made up of – freshly cooked basmati rice, marinated with a combination of spices and the meat of your choice (Chicken, Mutton, Fish) or eggs or vegetables. The most famous biriyani is Hyderabadi biriyani. I think everyone will agree that there is no love greater than the LOVE FOR BIRYANI! Right?
  7. Khar : This is the most famous food of Assam. Incredibly appetizing! It’s sad to know that Assamese food was never mentioned although they have a variety of food which are amazingly delicious. Khar is both an ingredient and the name of any dish prepared using it. It can be prepared with pulses, vegetables, or even fish or meat. The basic ingredient “Khar” is obtained by filtering out the water from the burned ashes of the skin of the banana. Therefore, it is also called kolkhar (Kol means banana). It is preserved in bottles and can be used for months. For khar most preferable season is summer. In summer people enjoy khar a lot.

As I said India is a variety of different cultures. Because of that, Indian cuisine has created a place for itself in the hearts of millions over the globe. I know you must have thought why only 7 dishes then? We have so many other verities of Indian food why I didn’t mention them? I know, these are not the only dishes which are popular in the world, but these are those dishes which are held as pride by the people themselves who belong to the background culture.
