Paytm focus shifted from Growth to Profitability

Paytm is an Indian mobile payment and financial services company, it was founded in 2000 by Vijay Shekhar Sharma, who is an Indian technology entrepreneur and businessman. The company is set to make a record of hitting $1 billion in annual revenue by March 2023 and the company is also set to shift its focus from growth to profitability.

The company’s core business model is to acquire merchants and customers for payment services, the CEO said that the company will continue to focus on buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) offerings that will help its financial partners to leverage credit distribution through mobile payments.

He is following a “rewind-and-reset” policy to win back his investors. He is all set to make Paytm the most relevant payments company of these times. Paytm’s MTU (monthly transacting users) has risen to 76 million as of June 2022, which was 70 million in February 2022.
