Pune India, 21-03- 2023: HORIBA India, a subsidiary of HORIBA, Ltd. – a world leader in analytical testing and research equipment, has made a generous contribution to the Human Empowerment Foundation in support of the Khelo India Stag Table Tennis Academy. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, HORIBA India has donated funds to the foundation in order to assist in developing sports in India. The Pitampura-based Khelo India Stag Table Tennis Academy is being coached by Mr. Sandeep Gupta, a renowned table tennis coach and Dronacharya Awardee, and equipped with tools provided by HORIBA India.
HORIBA India sees its small contribution to sports as a seed for better nation development, community uplifting, empowerment, skill development, and investment in physical and mental health. Ms. Suparna Banerjee Bhattacharyya, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Shared Operations at HORIBA India, expressed her belief that this effort will lead to more victories for the country. She added that HORIBA management has consistently supported athletic endeavours within the company and has sponsored the Kyoto Sanga F.C. soccer team in Japan since 1997.
The event was led by Dr. Rajeev Gautam, Corporate Officer for HORIBA, Ltd., and President of HORIBA India Pvt. Ltd., who is himself a sports fan. Ms. Kanika Thakur, Lead – Corporate Communication, Mr. Sourav Taneja, Manager (Events) – Corporate Communication, and Mani Rajesh Kumar, Regional Business Manager (North & Ea), represented HORIBA India at the event. They were joined by Mr. Uday Shankar, Senior Vice President, Delhi State Table Tennis Association, Mr. Balbir Singh Lamba, Joint Secretary, and Mr. V K Bawa, Former Secretary Petroleum Sports Promotion Board and Former Treasurer Table Tennis Federation of India. The ceremony took place on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Khelo India Stag Table Tennis Academy, where equipment was distributed to the academy’s players.
