Container Fumigation:

Aluminium Phosphide or Methyl Bromide can be used to fumigate it.

In the case of Aluminium Phosphide fumigation, the Aluminium Phosphide must be applied in the form of sachets containing granules or tablets in such a way that it disperses quickly and evenly distributes the Phosphine gas concentration. After the required exposure period has passed, the container must be evacuated and declared gas-free.

Installation of fumigation equipment such as Distribution tubes, Fans, and Sampling tubes at each level, i.e. top rear, middle centre, and front base, was required for container fumigation with Methyl Bromide. The essential connections, such as Vaporizer and Applicator, are connected, and the requisite volume of gas is discharged and monitored throughout a certain exposure period in accordance with government-mandated fumigation standards. The container is degassed and declared gas-free after successful fumigation.

Wooden Pallets /Packing Material Fumigation

Powder post beetle and other wood boring pests are highly dangerous to this tree. This insect is extremely harmful and difficult to control, and storing infested WPM near any wooden objects can cause significant damage to the wood. According to ISPM-15 recommendations, WPM should be fumigated with Methyl Bromide in accordance with the IPPC mark.

We follow the ISPM – 15 rules to control the WPM pest, which are approved by practically every country on the planet.

Vessel Fumigation

The general technique of Aluminium Phosphide fumigation is to spread bare Aluminium Phosphide tablets throughout the bulk or loose cargo using applicators and other means. Garlands of Aluminium Phosphide sachets are hung in the channels or gaps of the stack in the case of bagged cargo. For vessel fumigation with Aluminum Phosphide, the J-Type technique has recently gained popularity.

In the case of Methyl Bromide, all efforts are taken to distribute the Methyl Bromide gas evenly in the Hatches or holds by establishing tube networks at various levels such as bottom, centre, and top before loading. For the circulation of atmospheric air into the hatches, a blower or fan is now placed in each hatch or hold. This configuration also aids in the ventilation of the hatch after the exposure period has ended.

The use of a vaporizer aids in the even distribution and dispersion of Methyl Bromide in a heated gaseous condition in order to achieve 100% insect mortality. We evaluate samples from various locations of the hatches or holds after ventilation, when the TLV is below 5 PPM, and the vessel is allowed to sail if the results are satisfactory.

Warehouse Fumigation

Warehouse fumigation entails fumigating commodities that are either loose or wrapped in bags or other forms of packaging and stored in godowns, warehouses, or stationary storage. Separate stacks are fumigated and then covered with plastic coverings (tarpaulins) with GSM as suggested by the Plant Protection and Quarantine Authority of India, and finally sealed with sand snakes to make them gaslight.
