Samsung Launches

On 9th June Samsung launched the first edition of Solve for Tomorrow, a new youth-centric national education and innovation competition that invites India’s brightest young minds to come up with innovative ideas that can change the lives of people and the communities around them.

With Solve for Tomorrow, a citizenship initiative that engages Generation Z around the world, Samsung aims to empower 16-22-year-olds from cities, towns, and villages across India to turn their ideas into action to solve real-world problems.  In its first year, Solve for Tomorrow invites ideas from the priority UN Sustainable Development Goals for India in Education, Environment, Health, and Agriculture.

Support will include mentoring by industry experts and the Innovation and Technology Transfer Foundation (FITT) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) in Delhi to help the top 50 teams (individuals or teams of up to 3 members) develop their ideas. A boot camp at IIT Delhi, with a certificate of participation and vouchers worth INR 100,000 for online courses like design thinking, STEM, innovation, and leadership, among others. The top 10 teams will have the opportunity to visit Samsung India offices, R&D centers, and Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru, where they will interact with young Samsung employees and researchers.
