Since then Yogacharya Shri Karunakar ji is giving his valuable time, knowledge and Therapeutic Yoga guidance to Dhakaram ji.
An ardent learner and a dedicated guru, Dhakaram ji is a prominent personality who lives Yoga. He has made his mark by being a gold medalist two times internationally; has earned the national award many a times. He realized that he is made for Yoga when he came in contact with his Yoga Guru Shri Suraj Karan Jindal Sahib of Jaipur. Since the year 1993, he is dedicated in healing through yoga. He then founded YogaPeace in 1998 and later he founded Ekam Yoga in 2018.
His sadhna is continuously appreciated and felicitated with a number of awards, certificates, Medallions, Appraisals, nationally and globally. His personality adds to his art of teaching yoga. He takes personal interest in each and every student by making him available all the time for all working tirelessly at the centre. His teaching method is unique which he formulates as per the progress and understanding of his student to avoid boredom and develop insight and depth of the subject. He has trained thousands of people to change their life along with helping them getting rid of the ailments they thought were not possible to be cured.
Mr. Dhakaram being curious learner keeps upgrading his own knowledge. Apart from yoga he is also trained in various fields of alternative medicines such as Acupressure, Su Jok Therapy, Twist Therapy, Smile Meditation, Smile Yoga and Naturopathy etc.
“Teaching gives me a great deal of satisfaction and the opportunity of self-realization through the process of yoga. It allows me to contribute to society in the best way I can and enjoy” says Mr. Dhakaram.
Dhakaram has loved working out and karate since he was a child. One of his buddies mentioned that yoga might be a good way to improve his ability to focus during his karate training finesse. Young Dhakaram’s passion quickly turned to yoga. Shri Suraj Karan Jindal Sahib nicknamed ‘Guruji’ began teaching yoga classes to him in 1988. Dhakaram exclaims, “We bonded on a level that went beyond a student-teacher connection.”
He began visiting worldwide yoga conferences and seminars with Guruji in places like Pondicherry and Kanpur. Soon, he began competing in yoga competitions and winning numerous gold medals. “I never got anything like that in karate,” he jokes, “but yoga brought me a lot of notoriety and honour.”
His passion in yoga developed exponentially over time, and he began teaching yoga to a small group of pupils in 1994. This was only the beginning of his career as a teacher. When he first began training pupils, he never charged them any fees since he was always concerned with providing the finest possible experience for them, and all he asked in return was for them to leave the session with a smile on their faces. As he grew in fame, he was cast in a number of local and foreign films. In fact, in Jackie Chan’s ‘KungFu Yoga,’ he was renowned as the levitating yogi.
The Beginning of YogaPeace
Dhakaram dedicated his life to yoga and became a senior instructor at Rajasthan Swasthya Yoga Parishad after years of training and hard work. He used to give pupils advanced yoga training sessions here. He eventually continued for a few years till Mr. Sharat Dhakad, a friend of his, came up with the idea of opening a yoga studio in 1998. This is where the moniker ‘YogaPeace’ came from. “I said, ‘All right, brother, let’s do it!'” Dhakaram declares.
Everything fell into place in 2006, when Mr. Rahul Mangal, another personal friend of his, offered them a spare space on the bottom level of his condominium. Thus began YogaPeace’s adventure. As a result, what began as a typical yoga training facility quickly became a sensation in the Jaipur region. They now have a global network of more than 60,000 to 75,000 people with whom they provide a variety of courses and coaching programmes. Regular Yoga, Advanced Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Partner Yoga, Meditation, Therapy Yoga, Slimming Program, Fitness Yoga, Corporate Yoga, and Yoga Certification Courses (L1, L2, and L3) are just a few of the classes available. “Everyone strives for happiness in their lives. Yoga is also a way of life. It’s all about the grins here. So, if we don’t spend time with ourselves and our thoughts, we can’t be happy,” Dhakaram argues, his voice full of determination.
Yoga Cures! Adapting to the Changing Times
Many people in the corporate world are currently suffering with health concerns, and Dhakaram believes that when people are stressed or under pressure, they will not be able to perform to their full ability, resulting in health issues and unneeded hassles. YogaPeace recognises the pain points in the area and provides personalised therapeutic yoga sessions for a variety of issues. “Therapeutic sessions are well-known at our facility. In truth, there are a number of conditions for which doctors recommend medication as the only option. However, we cure various conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, arthritis, and others) without the use of medications. As a result, Dhakaram confidently declares, “Practicing yoga alters everything.”
“Everyone struggles to find happiness in life,” he continues. Yoga is also a way of life. It’s all about the grins here. So you can’t be happy if you don’t spend time with yourself and your ideas,” Dhakaram explains.
